Testimony of a Ghetto Child: What is Poetry?

Testimony of a Ghetto Child: What is Poetry?

What is Poetry?

What is Poetry?
Is it art
Or does it come,
From the heart?
Does it have its own part?
So tell me
What is poetry?
Is it lyrics to a favorite song?
What is poetry?
A soft melody
Or words
From the mouth,
What is Poetry?
Is it something like?
Floetry?
“All you gotta to do is say yes,
Don’t deny what you feel,
Open up yo mind and rest,
I’m about to let you know “
So tell me,
What is Poetry?

Testimony of a Ghetto Child: sometimes

Testimony of a Ghetto Child: sometimes

sometimes

Sometimes I wanna hide
And let them try and find
What I left behind
Sometimes I wanna
Scream like I’m in
A bad dream!
This seems so unreal to me
Sometimes I wanna cry
And not know why?
Sometimes I wanna
Live my life
And not wonder!
Sometimes I just
Fight because I
Might lose sight

if you let me i might be Willing...
if you want me to i WILL...
but it's gonna take some time,
time to heal..
i can't just give you my heart and
expect it to be ok!!! i need to know if your ready!!!!
